This book calls for one word “WOW!” Tim Stevens knows how to communicate.  He also knows what he is talking about.

He addressed how the church needs to be reaching out to the world with pop culture not plotting against pop culture.

Tim bring out that Jesus himself used pop culture to relate with the people around him and he did!  We need to do the same.  Not boycott pop culture like most christians and churches are.

If you are a follow of Christ and desire to understand your culture and how you can use it to reach your friends, family, community and world, please read this book!  Also every leader, pastor, elder (whatever you call leaders in your church) needs to read this book.

Here is a few quotes from the book:

“It has taken the church two thousand years to make Jesus-the most compelling and attractive person who ever lived-boring!” ~Mark Beeson

“We have become famous for what we oppose, rather than who we are for.” ~David Kinnaman

“We may as well say to them, “Go to hell because I don’t give a rip about your eternity.  Just stay away from me and my family and out of our picket-fence protected homes.”  Our actions are perceived as holier than thou, and they put us in the category of “all Christians are the Same.”” ~Tim Stevens

“Here is the bottom line: People have needs (Translated: They itch).  If you can help meet those needs (Translated: Scratch the itch), you will gain an audience who will be open to the rest of the truth of scripture.” ~Tim Stevens

“You must think like a missionary.” ~Tim Stevens

Those are just some quotes that I thought were really good.  There is so many good things that are said in the book.  Go ahead and check it out for yourself.
